PluvioFlow

A flooded street

Climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. This increases the need for more accurate hydrological simulation for better prevention and disaster management. PluvioFlow's new dynamic simulation algorithm has the potential to deliver a flow result that is closer to reality - in a much faster and easier way.

The company builds on 30 years of research at Lund University's GIS Centre into how water moves in different environments during floods. The new company is backed by the research trio of Andreas Persson, Petter Pilesjö and Abdulghani Hasan, as well as LU Holding and Sandberg Development. Sam Sarwat, co-founder and mathematician, will be the company's first employee and CTO.
